Myres Castle is set within a 44 acre estate in the Kingdom of Fife, Scotland, only 45 minutes drive from Edinburgh. The castle, recently refurbished, has exceptional charm and its dedicated team of staff creates an atmosphere of quality and discretion. Dining, as with everything else at Myres, is a unique experience, and guests can enjoy everything from the simplicity of a family supper around the solid oak table in the cosy Victorian Kitchen to a more formal banquet in the stunning setting of the magnificent Dining room.
The original Myres Castle was a Z-plan fortress dating from around 1530. The castle is set on a rise with panoramic views from the battlements over the surrounding countryside. The castle has been altered and extended throughout the years and is now a beautiful private home that you and your guests occupy exclusively for the duration of your stay. Myres is not, and does not pretend to be, a Hotel. In order to maintain the ambience of a private home the owners of Myres afford their guests as much privacy as possible. Whilst a small team of staff will be on hand to assist you, it is Myres custom to encourage guests to treat the castle as their home. Breakfast and dinner are provided each day by the excellent chef, who uses only the freshest of produce to prepare a blend of Scottish and international cuisine.
Myres Castle is available on an exclusive use basis only. The castle accommodates up to 18 guests overnight in the 9 individually designed bedrooms. Small wedding ceremonies and receptions of no more than 20 people can take place in the main castle. Ceremonies can be held in any one of the beautiful rooms in the castle, or, weather permitting, outside on the picturesque lawns. The splendid dining room with large table offers a very intimate setting for your wedding reception. Larger weddings can erect a marquee on the wonderful marquee lawns in the grounds of the castle.
