Edinburgh Castle is Scotland’s most famous landmark, perched high on the core of an extinct volcano dominating the skyline of the city.

The castle has played a major part in the history of Scotland, and houses the Scottish Crown Jewels and The Stone of Destiny.

Your ceremony and reception can be held in a choice of areas throughout the castle and whilst the main wedding party are using the grounds for photography, a tour of the castle, including the Crown Jewels, can be arranged for your guests.

The 19th century Gatehouse is situated at the entrance to the Castle and comprises of two adjoining apartments. The Court Martial Room, which offers an ideal venue for smaller wedding ceremonies, and the adjoining Ante Room, which is available for drinks and canapés. There is also access to a private Terrace providing a stunning backdrop for your wedding photographs with views of The Royal Mile and The City of Edinburgh.

The Jacobite Room is available for your wedding reception, outwith opening hours throughout the year and is hired for exclusive use.

The newly refurbished Queen Anne Building offers a private facility for daytime wedding ceremonies and evening receptions in Crown Square at the heart of Edinburgh Castle. The adjoining glazed courtyard area offers a gathering space for pre-dinner drinks creating an atmospheric start to your wedding celebration.
